Clubs and Organizations at Monroe Clark Middle!

Best Friends – Advisors, Pat Moore, Kitty Gabriel, CarlieWard

  • Meets: every Weds. Rm. 505, 12:30-1:30 p.m.
  • Description: Best Friends is a youth development program with a character-building curriculum for adolescent girls. Our motto is, “You will be successful in life if you set goals and maintain self-respect.”

Builder’s Club – Advisor, Mr. Rountree

  • Meets: every Weds. Rm. 170, 12:15 - 1:00 p.m.
  • Description: Builders Club is a service club run entirely by its elected officers and club members. Participants develop valuable life skills or traits such as leadership, commitment, initiative, responsibility, caring and compassion. Students who want to make a difference in their school, community, neighborhood or city, are invited to join!

Cesar Chavez Service Club – Advisor, Mr. Catano

  • Meets every Weds. Rm. 351, 12:30-1:30 p.m.
  • Description: “Youth leadership through service.” This club provides a working organization where students and teachers plan and work together in service projects on campus and in their communities, promoting the values of migrant farm worker activist, Cesar E. Chavez.

Circle of Peace – Advisor, Michael Crawford

  • Meets Tues. and Thurs. in Rm. 151 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Description: The focus of the Circle of Peace Club is to promote peace in the neighborhood, peace in the school, and peace within ourselves.The cycle of violence is difficult to break, and our goal is to show people that peace can start with them. We host an annual "peace week,” a time to focus on non-violent solutions to problems. This includes lunchtime activities, a “Peace Fair” and the “Walk to Stop the Violence

National Junior Honor Society – Advisor, Ms. Baker

  • Meets on Fri. once a month, no specific date/time
  • Description: National Junior Honor Society is a recognized organization throughout the State and Nation. Students are selected to become National Junior Honor Society members based upon their high academic excellence of achieving and maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher and maintaining high standards of citizenship. We follow at set of bylaws written by the NJHS committee. The NJHS identifies with six standards, which are CITIZENSHIP, SERVICE, LEADERSHIP, CHARACTER, SCHOLARSHIP, and MEMBERSHIP.

Top Models Club – Advisor, Ms. Bailey-Singleton

  • Meets Tues./Thurs., Rm. 504 from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
  • Description: “The world is waiting for you!” You must be prepared to look, speak and do your best at presenting yourself! Be one of Monroe Clark’s “top models.” Learn to make presentations, apply make-up, dress to impress, walk the ramp, mentor and encourage others.

Washington DC Club – Advisor, Stacy Sauls

  • Meets every Tues. after school, Rm.162
  • Description: 30 students will travel to our nation’s capitol and Williamsburg,VA on March 12-17.
